What are Linking Verbs?

As a continuation of the previous post, we now go into discussion on the Definition and Meaning of Linking Verbs.

As we discussed earlier about the definition of Verbs is the words that indicate action or doing something, or it can be defined as the words to affirm, command or ask questions.

Then, what are Linking Verbs? Verbs (Working Words) serve to connect the Subject with Adjective directly to function to be but can not be interpreted as an action that performs action.

An example that connects Subject and Verb is to the sentence: This drink tastes delicious. This drink tastes good.

In the above sentence, we use Verb: taste that relates Subject: This drink and Adjective: delicious.

The rules of course follow certain Tenses. In the sentence above, the sentence is a Simple Present Tense sentence so that we use the word tastes because the subject This drink amounts to one or serves as a Single Person in Pronouns (Kata Ganti).

So if we use the word taste in a sentence Simple Past Tense then one example is like this sentence: The drink I bought yesterday tasted delicious.

In addition to the word taste, what are the other Verbs that become parts of Linking Verbs?

Here's the list:

1
Be
2

3
Feel
4
Taste
5
Smell
6

7

8
